Hospice Nurse (After Hours)

Salary: $38.46-$42.79/hr BOE

Schedule: Full-time| Fri/Sat/Sun | 8:00 PM-8:00 AM

Location: Kettering, Ohio (surrounding area)

Requirements of the Hospice RN Role:

• Licensed RN in the state of practice
• A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance coverage
• Reliable transportation, willingness to travel
• On-call/skilled nursing experience required

About the RN Role:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients in end-of-life, conducting visits in a facility and/or home patients.
• Provide on-call services after hours, and complete scheduled skilled visits.
• Responding to phone calls from patients and their families regarding concerns about symptoms, changes in conditions, or emergencies.
• Conducting home/facility visits to assess patients with critical symptoms such as pain management, respiratory distress, or emotional crisis.
• Assist RNCM in carrying out the plan of care.
• Assist the nursing team in performing specialized procedures as defined in the state nurse practice act as directed by the RNCM under the physician's orders.
• Actively participate in the IDGH in collaborating to ensure the patient plan of care is kept current and identified issues are addressed.
• Assist in the reinforcement of patient and family education regarding end-of-life care.
• Assume responsibility for personal and vocational growth and development through active participation in nursing organizations and participating in in-service programs and other on-the-job learning.
• Keep the RNCM informed of changes noted during the process.
• Participate in self-development by practicing further education, workshops, and conferences, active in professional and related organizational meetings, and individual research and reading.
• Assist with emergent visits including continuous care (CC) and companion care as needed.
• All other duties as assigned
