Details Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting Patient ratio of 1:6 Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00), with 36 or 48 hour options Epic charting system used Floating to like units within scope required based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided Requirements Active RN license (NM or Compact) required BLS certification required; CPI certification preferred Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required Epic charting experience required Skills in respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oxygen administration, oral suctioning) IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including PICC line and peripheral line management Experience with blood product administration Experience managing colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tubes Neurological/psychiatric care experience including CVA and pre/post neurosurgery patients Medication administration experience with heparin, insulin, and PCA Wound care and wound vac management experience Cardiac monitoring and telemetry experience, including remote monitoring and Rapid Response/Code team use Experience with total joint replacement orthopedic care Renal/genitourinary care experience including pre/post hemodialysis management preferred Additional Information Scrubs of any color accepted, no logos permitted First-time travelers welcome with a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted Previous staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler No travel pairs or groups accepted Limited RTO auto-approval; RTO not permitted during the first week of orientation American Traveler Job ID P-749646.
