SALES CONSULTANT / OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Fence Direct is hiring a driven, customer-focused Sales Consultant to join our growing team in the Fort Myers, FL area. In this role, you will be the face of Fence Direct — meeting homeowners and property managers on-site, delivering professional fence estimates, and closing deals that directly impact company revenue.

This is not a desk job. You will own your territory, manage your pipeline, and build real relationships with customers from first handshake to signed contract. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Sales & Estimating

• Conduct professional in-home and on-site sales consultations across the Orlando/Kissimmee service area

• Perform accurate site measurements and build detailed fence estimates using House Call Pro

• Present product options, explain HOA considerations and permit requirements, and guide customers to the right solution

• Close sales on-site whenever possible; follow up persistently on all open proposals within 24–48 hours

• Achieve monthly revenue and close rate targets established by the Sales Manager

Pipeline & CRM Management

• Manage your full lead pipeline in House Call Pro from initial appointment to closed deal

• Update job status and log all customer communications after every touchpoint — no exceptions

• Flag stalled or at-risk deals to the Sales Manager before they exceed 5 days without contact

• Participate in weekly pipeline review meetings and report daily activity via Google Workspace

Customer Relationship & Operations Handoff

• Set clear, accurate expectations with every customer on permitting, scheduling, and installation timelines

• Serve as the customer's point of contact from signed contract through permit approval

• Collect signed contracts and deposits at point of sale; complete a thorough Operations handoff form by end of day on every closed job

• Proactively communicate any delays or changes to the customer before Operations does

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

✓  2–3+ years of outside, in-home, or field sales experience | ✓  Experience in fencing, construction, or home improvement preferred
✓  Proven track record meeting or exceeding sales targets in a commission-based role | ✓  Familiarity with field service CRM software (House Call Pro or similar)
✓  Exceptional in-person communication and consultative selling skills | ✓  Proficient in Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Meet)
✓  Self-directed and highly motivated — owns daily schedule and territory | ✓  Professional appearance and demeanor on every customer interaction
✓  Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required (mileage reimbursed) | ✓  Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
✓  Resilient and persistent — follows up until a decision is made | ✓  Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
✓  High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's preferred | ✓  Ability to read property surveys and identify setback lines a plus

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

We hold our Sales Consultants to clear, measurable standards. 

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

• Compensation: Competitive base salary + commission structure
• Regular check-ins with Sales Manager via Google Meet or in-office visits
