The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee. As Lead APP on the team additional responsibilities include creating the monthly team schedule, assisting in filling schedule gaps, assisting with payroll, assisting with providing team educational opportunities and being an active member of the APP Practice Council as well as various hospital committees.Essential FunctionsDemonstrates an ability to organize and achieve quality performance in new routineDemonstrates effectiveness in coordinating aspects of patient carePerforms appropriate assessments and treatment for patientsPerforms appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testingPerforms basic bedside procedures such as central line removal, feeding tube insertion, rhino rocket insertion, etc.Appropriately directs patient care during a rapid response as well as code stroke, code MI and code sepsisDemonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively and demonstrates time managementPerforms duties independently and coordinates care with the bedside nurse, attending physician and other consulting providersThe ability to compassionately interact with patients across different areas of careRecognizes areas for improvement in policies or patient care, initiates change and educates all involved in changeRegularly communicates with nursing staff concerning patient care issuesThoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testingProvides appropriate patient teaching as necessaryAbility to perform proper medical clearances for inpatient psychiatric patientsJob RequirementsAcute care certification preferredFCCS certification preferred1 to 2 years acute care hospital experience preferredCurrent APN or PA certificationCurrent NJ state license CDS and DEACurrent BLS and ACLS required
