Shop Technician, Compact Construction Equipment

Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Rental Diesel Technician to work on a variety of Ziegler owned rental compact construction equipment and a variety of non-CAT rental equipment at our Dayton location. Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 7:30am-5pm and Saturdays 8-noon. The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00. Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location. Paid Parental Leave & Funeral Leave Fitness membership discount Education Assistance Safety Boot Reimbursement PPE & Uniforms provided Tool Insurance Safe, clean and friendly work environment Responsibilities Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini excavators, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, CUV's, among other light and medium construction equipment Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test Minimum Physical Requirements: Using hands, talking, hearing Qualifications 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience 2+ years of relevant diesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred Working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust systems, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar is a plus but not required Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems Own mechanic tool set Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment Equal Opportunity At Ziegler Inc. we’re committed to equal opportunity.
