UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a Full-TIME, REGISTERED NURSE to participate in a Periop-101 training program with our OPERATING ROOM DEPARTMENT. This position commences September 28, 2026. You must have an Active WA RN license, or valid Multistate RN license no later than September 10, 2026 to be eligible. *** Position closes July 27, 2026. ***

WORK SCHEDULE

• Full time / 40 Hours per week
• Rotating/variable shift

• Communicate and advocate patient values, preferences and expressed needs as part of implementation of care plan, evaluation of care and assessment of patient/family learning needs to the interdisciplinary team. Initiates and anticipates individualized care and education for patients/families across the continuum using an interdisciplinary approach.

Teamwork & Collaboration: Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.

• Applies communication practices that minimize risks across transitions of care.
• Presents own perspective and supporting evidence in patient care and team discussions.
• Collaborates with team members in shared decision making.

Primary Job Responsibilities

This program is designed to provide registered nurses who have little to no previous experience with the basic knowledge and clinical skills necessary to function independently in an entry-level perioperative nursing position. At the completion of the course, it is expected that the nurse will be able to practice independently at the novice level in a perioperative position.

Requirements

Current unrestricted nursing license

One year of Acute care nursing experience and or

Clinicals in Operating Room
