SY 26-27 Assistant Dean

Assistant Dean – Upper School (Bilingual) Conservatory Lab Charter School seeks a bilingual Assistant Dean to collaborate with staff, students, and families to create a strong school and community culture rooted in the five school values of Cooperation, Empathy, Perseverance, Reflection, and Responsibility. Responsibilities Support arrival and dismissal processes each day. Facilitate recess protocols and logistics. Support daily coverage, including student lunch coverage, and communicate norms and expectations. De‑escalate children as needed. Evaluate school staff to support a positive, high‑achievement school environment for all students. Build and nurture a positive school culture through coordination of school‑wide or grade‑level events, implementation of staff and student recognition systems, and supporting a school‑wide positive culture. Facilitate and translate family meetings, articulate school culture, vision, and mission to families, teachers, and students, and assist with family communication. Assist in operations: develop and logistically support school‑wide events, Family Nights, and New Student Orientations; support communications and external relations through parent letters, weekly staff notes, surveys, and visitors. Monitor student attendance and tardiness, and communicate with families to create plans to improve attendance; develop, communicate, and enforce guidelines to maintain proper attendance, discipline, conduct, and ensure supports are in place. Maintain a safe, secure, and clean environment, including supervising emergency drills, developing emergency response procedures, arranging substitute coverage, and supervising students' lunch/recess and arrival/dismissal procedures. Prepare paperwork and reports as required (newsletters, handbooks, board reports, etc.) and assist with scheduling. Report directly to the Director of School Culture and Counseling. Other responsibilities as assigned by Principal and Executive Director or designee. Qualifications 3 years school‑based experience; early childhood experience preferred. 2 years management experience. Fluent in Spanish (preferred).
