Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with specialized expertise in Urology, Gynecology/Oncology, and kidney/pancreas transplant robotic surgery.

Job Details

• Operating Room setting within a Magnet-designated teaching hospital,
• GYN/GU/Transplant specialty tier,
• Performs kidney transplants, procurements, hysterectomies, nephrectomies, cystectomies, ureteroscopy, HOLEP, and laparoscopic gynecology procedures,
• Uses Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system for urologic and gynecologic robotic surgery,
• 1:1 patient ratio,
• Epic charting system required,
• Day/evening 12-hour shifts scheduled 0640-1910 three times weekly with potential for one 0940-2210 shift biweekly,
• Weekend rotation and weekday call requirement,
• Floating required as needed,

Job Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required (pending WI license accepted for consideration),
• BLS certification required (AHA only),
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty area,
• Experience required in Urology, Gynecology/Oncology, kidney transplant, pancreas transplant, and robotic surgery,
• Skilled in abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair, laparoscopic assisted gynecological and urological procedures,
• Experience with cystectomy, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and transurethral resection of the prostate,
• Knowledge of blood/blood product administration, infection control, laser safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures,
• Experience with emergency management, code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia management,
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Previous charge experience preferred,
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start meeting strict adult and pediatric passing criteria,

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a range of complex GYN, urology, and transplant surgical procedures,
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted,
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position,
