As the Nurse Director Surgical Services leading perioperative services, the department spans the full patient journey-pre-admission testing, pre-op, intra-op, PACU, ambulatory surgery, and sterile processing-anchored by a 100+ bed hospital with 5+ ORs, a commitment to new technology, a Leapfrog A Rated safety culture, and a collaborative, full RN staff dedicated to exceptional care and on-time, high-reliability operations across service lines.

The Nurse Director Surgical Services will report to a senior nursing executive and partner closely with surgical and anesthesia leadership, supported by OR managers, PACU leaders, clinical educators, SPD leadership, and data/financial analysts; as a Surgical Services Director, key responsibilities include strategic planning, budgeting and capital planning, surgeon alignment and block optimization, throughput and turnover improvements, preference card and supply chain stewardship, regulatory readiness (TJC/CMS/AORN/ASPAN), infection prevention metrics, and continuous improvement-while leading friendly nurses and a diverse, interprofessional team of technologists, APPs, and allied health colleagues who value teamwork and psychological safety.
