Overview
Seeking an experienced Nursing Leader to serve as Director of Surgical Services in a high-performing perioperative environment. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for surgical services, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care across the OR and related perioperative departments. Ideal for a seasoned RN leader with strong surgical services background and proven management experience.
- Lead daily operations of Surgical Services (OR/perioperative departments)
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization for surgical nursing teams
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety protocols
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and clinical performance outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and hospital leadership to improve surgical throughput
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and operational efficiency
- Support staff development, engagement, and retention strategies
- Ensure readiness for audits, accreditation, and regulatory reviews
- Active (or eligible) Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Surgical Services (OR/perioperative nursing)
- Proven leadership experience at Manager or Director level in Surgical Services
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Strong leadership, communication, and operational management skills
- Master's degree preferred (MSN, MHA, or MBA)
- Experience in large hospital or acute care surgical environments
- BLS required upon hire
- ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire
