Licensed Veterinary Technician – Oncology Location: Lynnwood, Washington – Full‑time. 24‑hour emergency, critical‑care, and specialty hospital within the Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner. About the Role The Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle is an emergency, critical‑care, and specialty hospital that offers oncology, surgery, internal medicine, and more. The Oncology team is looking for a licensed veterinary technician to provide high‑quality care to both hospitalized and outpatient cancer patients while delivering exceptional client service. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care to oncology patients, including administering injectable and oral medications (anti‑emetics, steroids, chemotherapeutic agents, etc.). Set up and assist with chemotherapy, tissue sampling, and other diagnostic procedures. Maintain accurate patient records using EzyVet and SmartFlow. Utilize a Fear Free approach to patient handling and follow safety protocols. Demonstrate understanding of hazardous waste handling and chemotherapy safety protocols. Perform procedures such as venipuncture, cystocentesis, and laboratory tasks (blood smears, PCV/TS). Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and ensuring understanding of treatment plans. Support the team’s gold standard veterinary care and advocate for patient well‑being. Qualifications At least 1 year of clinical veterinary experience. Positive, team‑oriented attitude. Commitment to creating a stress‑free environment for patients. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative setting. Flexible schedule and willingness to adapt to hospital needs. Active Washington State Veterinary Technician’s License.
