This role plays a critical part in driving product excellence, leading root cause analyses, and mentoring other technicians. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in quality systems, precision measurement, and continuous improvement for windows and doors manufacturing. This role will perform Quality Control Activities in the Renewal by Andersen (RbA) Cottage Grove, MN facility. The applicant will work on the Quality Team using standards tools to ensure quality products are being delivered to our customers, strengthening the Andersen Brand of an industry leader in product quality./ph3Primary Responsibilities/h3ulliQuality Assurance Control/liulliPerform advanced inspections, product workstation audits, and testing on raw materials, components, and finished products (PPAP, Capability Studies)/liliValidate compliance with internal specifications and external standards/liliInterpret engineering drawings and specifications with a high degree of accuracy, both dimensional and visual/aesthetic./li/ulliProblem Solving Continuous Improvement/liulliLead and support root cause investigations using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, or DMAIC/liliCollaborate with engineering and production to drive corrective and preventive actions/liliPerform gauge and equipment procurement (CAPEX)/liliPerform gage repeatability and reproducibility studies (GRR)/liliIdentify trends in defects and propose data-driven solutions/liliAssist in Statistical Process Control methods to enable in-control production./li/ulliTechnical Expertise/liulliMentor and train Level I and II Technicians in inspection techniques, documentation, and quality standards/liliServe as point-of-contact for escalation of quality issues from production/li/ulliDocumentation Systems/liulliMaintain precise and timely records in quality management systems (e.g., SAP, QAD, or proprietary systems)/liliSupport internal and external audits by preparing inspection data and quality evidence/li/ulliCross-Functional Collaboration/liulliWork closely with production, engineering, and supply chain to uphold plant quality goals/liliParticipate in design reviews, process validations, and product release decision-making/liliParticipate in a cross-functional Tier structure with Quality responsibility for metrics actions./li/ul/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification (ASQ CQT) or associate degree preferred/lili5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment; windows/doors experience highly desirable/liliExpert-level proficiency in measurement tools (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers, XYZ tables)/liliStrong understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles/liliStrong communication skills, including ability to summarize data and findings, present results/liliExceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking/liliEffective communication skills for diverse teams/liliFamiliar with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Copilot, and Quality Management Systems; Familiarity with statistical software Minitab/liliMust be willing to travel up to 25% for 1 to 2 months during the busy project times - local and out of state./liliOvertime (OT) may be required during busy project times/li/ulh3Culture and Benefits/h3pAt Andersen, we believe our people are at the heart of everything we do.
