Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Job Description

This position is dedicated to providing exceptional care for antepartum patients, assisting laboring patients through childbirth, and supporting recovery and postpartum needs. Responsibilities also include lactation education, family-centered care, and management of well newborns in the Level 2 Nursery. The role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals and other team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily patient flow to enhance care, safety, and satisfaction.
• Triage patient requests efficiently and effectively.
• Provide patient education to support care plans and promote wellness.
• Delegate nursing care appropriately in accordance with Colorado statutes.
• Exhibit strong healthcare assessment, prioritizing, and critical thinking skills.
• Manage high volumes of patient telephone requests for medications and assistance.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in procedures while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Coordinate care with other physician practices and healthcare providers for enhanced patient satisfaction.
• Practice independently with minimal supervision while delivering excellent service.
• Advocate for patient safety, preferences, and maintain optimal communication with families through Relationship-Based Care.
• Model the principles of a Just Culture and uphold organizational values.

Required Experience / Certification / Licensure

• One year of clinical experience required.
• Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree required for positions hired after 07/01/2018.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

This position offers a rotating shift schedule.
