Description:

CT Technologist – Weekend Shift (Per Diem / Contract)

Shift Details

• Saturday 4:00 PM – Sunday 7:00 AM (double shift)
• OR
• Saturday 11:30 PM – 7:00 AM and Sunday 4:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Open to two candidates splitting the weekend coverage

Position Overview

• Computed Tomography Technologists use computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues
• Must be able to accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images
• Candidates should be in good health, as maneuvering equipment and assisting patients who are disabled may pose physical challenges
• CT scanners emit radiation, which can be harmful to the technologist and patient if proper safety procedures are not followed
• Overnight CT techs assist with inpatient portable x-rays ordered during the shift; candidates must be able to perform x-rays

Education Requirements

• High School graduate
• Graduate of an AMA-approved school for radiologic technology
• Advanced training in CT, MRI, and Interventional Radiography

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed in NYS as a Radiologic Technologist
• Advanced certification as an MRI Technologist
• Current ARRT certification
• Certified by NYS for contrast injections as required by the normal functions of the position
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist
• Current NYS Radiologic Technologist License
• Current ARRT certification
