Apply today and become a part of the Monogram Foods family!About the job:Our role of Procurement Manager can be based in Martinsville, VA, or Memphis, TN and will be responsible for managing the overall Monogram Foods/Supplier relationship at the plant level. Includes sourcing, negotiating, planning, and analyzing commodities to align Monogram Foods with strategic suppliers. This position will report to the Director of Procurement/Sourcing.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Place purchase orders for ingredients, supplies, and packaging materials as assignedContact suppliers to get updates on orders, expedite, and troubleshoot late shipments as necessaryIdentify and qualify potential new suppliers, request samples, specifications, and costsResolve freight/shipment issues, address quality concerns and pricing discrepanciesManage the return, replacement and credit for problem deliveriesSupport cross-functional activities and interact with Logistics, Quality, Marketing, R&D and Sales to assess current and future sourcing requirementsCoordinate regularly with scheduling, warehousing, accounting, and production departmentsMonitor purchases and inventory replenishment of materials and ingredient inventories to meet weekly production requirementsActively seek opportunities to improve quality and service while driving out costsManage inventory levels through the use of tools and analysis to minimize the risk of write-off while ensuring production continuityMaintain personal knowledge of market trends, including analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvementsParticipate in meetings involving cross-functional teams, leadership, suppliers or customers.Lead purchasing responsibility through 2-4 direct reports (Buyers and Expeditors) across four sites.B.S. degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred5 or more years of professional experience required (Food Purchasing experience preferred)Strong interpersonal abilities, communication skills, analytical capabilities, and customer service experience are desiredStrong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a keen sense of urgency requiredComfortable with developing and presenting out topics to various groups, including leadershipMotivated, self-starter, able to work independently and make fact-based decisions/recommendationsAble to see the bigger picture and work collaboratively with other business partners to accomplish the common goalProficient with MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel preferred, Power BI desirable) and ERP systems (MS D365 preferred)Additional experience/training in process improvement (Six Sigma or other technique), critical problem solving, and project management desired.Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.Must be 18 years or older. #J-18808-Ljbffr
