A rewarding opportunity awaits for a dedicated Special Education Teacher seeking a contract assignment within a supportive elementary school environment. This full-time position encompasses a 7:30 am to 3:30 pm schedule (37.5 hours per week) in a self-contained classroom serving students in kindergarten through 6th grade. You'll play a key role in a diverse learning setting, working closely with students whose caseloads include a variety of needs, behavioral challenges, and unique educational requirements. The district will equip you with MPS and de-escalation training to ensure you feel confident and supported in your daily responsibilities.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification
• Previous experience working with K-6th grade students, preferably in a self-contained, multi-needs classroom
• Strong understanding of developing and implementing IEPs
• Ability to navigate and support behavioral needs with patience and effective strategies
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for fostering student growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide engaging, individualized instruction to students in a self-contained classroom setting
• Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Employ evidence-based strategies for academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom climate
• Work in partnership with general education staff, support professionals, and families
• Participate in ongoing training, including MPS/de-escalation, to address varied student needs
