You make a difference.Position SummaryThis position will write and optimize CNC programs for various turning and milling machines including multi-axis lathes using G-code and CAM software. Develop the overall programming approach for CNC machinery; establish procedures for setup and operation of machine; as well as for programming. Recommendation of design changes to facilitate optimized CNC machining. Establishment of measured work rates for machining operations either from standard data or by time-study.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop CNC programs based on processes laid out by manufacturing engineerHelp develop processes with operators and manufacturing engineersRead and understand GD&T requirements on engineering drawingsIdentify program optimization opportunities in current machine programsKnowledge of cutting tool geometries, coatings, and applicationUtilize databases to create tool lists, part routings, and update established programsCreate and compile necessary documents to aid setting up machinesCreate tooling and fixturing prints in CADSpecify and procure any necessary tooling and fixturingDesign, modify and fabricate custom tooling and fixturingWork with tool manufacturers to improve cost, tool life and thru putCandidate ProfileKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMust demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Education & ExperienceAssociates Degree in Programming a plus - High School Diploma or GED required.Minimum 5 years' experience programming and machining. CAD experience required.
