PR & Content Manager (New York)

We're a leading, quickly growing (#424 on the Inc. 5000 list) AI detection platform for text, images, and video, helping businesses and individuals navigate the ever-evolving landscape of Generative AI. We serve educational institutions, as well as the media, insurance, and fintech sectors, providing comprehensive solutions to ensure responsible AI adoption, maintain content and academic integrity, detect fraud, protect intellectual property, and ensure robust AI governance.

We're looking for a PR and Content Manager who can read the zeitgeist and craft Copyleaks stories that tie into the trends and conversations already happening around AI, content, and originality, as well as create the news. You'll create the content that brings our product and real customer use cases to life, including blog posts, ebooks, reports, and infographics, then get it in front of the right audiences by pitching press and trades and posting across social. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role for someone equally comfortable turning a data point into a headline-worthy story and pitching that story to a reporter who has heard a hundred AI pitches this week.

This is a hybrid role based in New York City, reporting to our VP of Marketing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and pitch stories that connect our product, data, and customer use cases to the trends journalists and editors are already covering, across mainstream press and trade/vertical outlets spanning media, education, insurance, fintech, and AdTech/SaaS.
• Build and maintain relationships with reporters, editors, and industry analysts
• Own day-to-day media outreach and serve as a primary point of contact for press inquiries.
• Aggregate product data, customer insights, and market trends into attention-demanding narratives, including original research, reports, and data stories that give press and prospects a reason to pay attention.
• Write and produce content that brings our product and use cases to life: blog posts, ebooks, reports, and infographics.
• Package that content for distribution by pitching it to press and publishing it across social, so each piece earns coverage and drives engagement, not just a publish date.
• Partner with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Leadership to spot newsworthy moments (launches, data findings, customer wins, industry shifts) and turn them into PR opportunities.
• Track coverage, share of voice, and content performance, and use those insights to sharpen future pitches and content.
• Represent our voice and positioning consistently across press, content, and social, translating our approach into stories that land with each audience.

Who You Are

• A strong writer first, you can shape insights and data into stories that command attention, from a single social post to a full-length report.
• Comfortable pitching, confident selling a story to a skeptical reporter and selling an idea internally.
• Curious and plugged into the news cycle, digitally social, and always testing what content format and angle will break through.
• Action-oriented and able to juggle multiple stories and projects at once without losing quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in B2B PR and content, ideally at an emerging tech, SaaS, or AdTech company, and able to share our B2C app stories.
• Proven track record securing coverage with mainstream press and trade/vertical publications across multiple industries.
• Experience creating and repurposing long-form and visual content (blog posts, ebooks, reports, infographics) for both press pitching and social distribution.
• Startup or scale-up experience, comfortable moving fast, wearing multiple hats, and building processes where none exists yet.
• Education and/or enterprise industry experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized with strong attention to detail.
