Audit Manager | Independent Boutique CPA Firm | Portland, OR

Location: Hybrid — Portland, OR (3 days in office / flexible)

Compensation: Up to $145,000 base + benefits

Requirements: 5+ years public accounting audit experience | CPA required

We are an independently owned, full-service CPA and advisory firm headquartered in the Pacific Northwest — in business for nearly four decades, not looking to be acquired, and not entertaining conversations about it. Six tenured partners. A stable leadership team. A firm that has been built deliberately and intends to stay that way.

Our audit practice is one of the strongest in the region — a deep mix of commercial and governmental clients spanning construction, technology, manufacturing, real estate, and healthcare on the commercial side, and school districts, cities, community colleges, housing authorities, and counties on the governmental side. Single audit work is a significant and growing part of what we do, and we are looking for someone who knows it well.

This is a growth hire. The firm is expanding, the work is there, and we need the right person to help lead it.

• Defined Busy Season — Audit busy season runs primarily in the fall, driven by government fiscal year-end. Hours peak at 50–55 max and are managed intentionally. There is structure here, not chaos

What We Are Looking For

• Active CPA required
• 5+ years of public accounting audit experience
• Governmental audit background strongly preferred — school districts, municipalities, housing authorities, or similar
• Experience managing engagements, client relationships, and audit teams
• Regional or local public accounting firm background preferred
• Detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable leading in a hybrid environment
