Job Opportunity With Sarasota County Government

Sarasota County Government is offering a full-time position with a new pay rate of $18/hour. We provide training and reimburse for both your CDL Permit and CDL License with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements. Training is onsite in real SCAT buses, with 6 weeks paid training, 40 hours/week.

Join us to create wonderful experiences for residents and vacationing guests navigating Sarasota. Responsibilities include welcoming and interacting with passengers, focusing on the safety of our guests, being knowledgeable about other routes and schedules, and working flexible hours/days.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid Florida Driver's License. Preferred qualifications include a Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class "B" with passenger and air-brake endorsement or a Florida Driver's License, customer service experience, and the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Work hours are from 4:30 AM to 11:00 PM, with actual schedules varying. Pay is $18.00/hour, up to $21.15 if you hold a current CDL and have 4 or more years of transit driving experience.
