Responsibilities Serve as a trusted business partner to distributors, subcontractors, and internal sales teams. Collaborate cross‑functionally with sales, construction services, and leadership. Grow expertise through continuous learning and training. Drive top‑line sales growth that achieves desired margin expectations. Act as champion and demonstrate excellence in project follow‑up. Lead others within the internal AWI sales region to ensure best practices are functioning well. Participate in monthly Pulse meetings. Utilize Salesforce (CRM) to capture project follow‑up activities, next steps and maintain active pipeline. Collaborate with distributors and subcontractors to track projects and ultimately close them. Drive every project to close; win or loss. Analyze data from JFU efforts within SFDC and create action plans to drive greater share of wallet with specific accounts. Analyze monthly regional sales reports to identify trends, opportunities, gaps, and lead process improvement initiatives. Create and execute plans to grow customer value with a competitive advantage through knowledge of regional projects. Capture competitive data and product offerings and present that data to business leaders within AWI. Understand Armstrong selling advantages and position with key project influencers versus weaknesses of alternative competitors. Promote product lines to internal and external parties through presentations, segment pieces, responses to inquiries, and sample management. Focus on learning, applying, and continuous improvement through individual & team education & specialized training to enhance technical competencies. Function effectively as a member of a focused selling team (including Independent Sales Agents and the Construction Services team) to achieve individual, team, and business growth objectives. Create customer value with a competitive advantage through knowledge of regional projects and spearhead follow‑up efforts internally and externally. Become a business partner that provides guidance and leadership to a network of dedicated resources within the distributors in your region. Serve as SME on process, product, and pricing within the complex Architectural Specialties solutions offer. Interact with and coordinate internal resources including Armstrong Area Managers & field sales reps, CSMs, Independent Agents, Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Estimators within Construction Services teams. Train AWI sales team on product, collaborate with internal AWI resources solution selling and strategy. Measure progress in becoming easiest to do business with via voice of customer mechanisms. Promote, track, and close specialty suspension systems, Custom AS solutions. Serve as a resource to support integration efforts associated with successful Business Development opportunities. What Will Make You Successful Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to understand, measure, and navigate architectural drawings and blueprints. Proven ability to develop an influential strategic relationship with key customers. Collaborate effectively with internal AWI resources and develop/implement account and territory plans. Use business and financial metrics to drive improved performance. Comfortable creating reports and metrics to track results; prepare and deliver executive presentations with attention to detail. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year university or equivalent work experience. High Diploma/GED required. 5+ years of relevant field sales experience within a similar industry. What Will Make You Stand Out Experience with Adobe, Blue Beam, Salesforce, Showpad. Physical Demands Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and travel to customer locations, manufacturing facilities, and job sites. Navigate active plant environments or construction/job sites with uneven surfaces, stairs, ladders, and varying environmental conditions. Possibly lift and carry materials, samples, or equipment up to 25 pounds. Operate assigned company car for extended periods within the assigned territory. Frequent use of hands and arms for computer work, presentations, and handling product samples. Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and virtually; visually inspect project and site conditions. Maintain regular, punctual attendance and manage travel demands consistent with business needs. Work Environment Work performed in a combination of environments: home office or corporate office settings; customer offices and design firms; manufacturing plants and warehouses; construction or active job sites. Exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations, and moving equipment during plant or job site visits. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required based on location‑specific requirements. Regular travel required, including daytime and occasional overnight travel within the assigned territory. Driver’s License Requirement Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive for business purposes.
