Overview Jeopardy!, America’s favorite quiz show, is seeking a talented writer for its Emmy award‑winning WGA writing team. The writer will craft clues in the show’s answer‑and‑question format, using original research and creativity to meet rigorous production standards. Key Responsibilities Produce an average of 8 categories per week, each with 5 clues. Ensure source material meets show standards (no Wikipedia, no AI). Contribute to writers’ meetings with constructive feedback on game material. Collaborate closely with research staff and rewrite clues as needed based on research feedback. Create test material when required. Assist with last‑minute replacement clues during tape days. Deliver rapid‑response research on tape days to support on‑stage judging. Required Qualifications 4‑year college degree. Exceptional communication, grammar, and writing skills. Ability to collaborate with all areas of production. Preferred Qualifications WGA membership. Familiarity with FileMaker Pro. Compensation The position is full‑time and paid through Entertainment Partners, with an anticipated base salary of $138,000 to $172,000. The role may also qualify for annual incentive and comprehensive benefits, depending on factors such as experience, education, certifications, and location. STEP2– Submit a writing sample: 12 categories (6 for Jeopardy! and 6 for Double Jeopardy!) with 5 clues each; one category from each of 12 specified topics; and 3 Final Jeopardy! clues. Each clue must have at least one source. STEP3– Print, review, sign, and scan the Writing Sample Release document; attach it to your email. STEP4– Provide a cover letter and resume in the same email.
