Account Manager, Client Success (Local)

The big picture: Axios is a media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We’re hiring an Account Manager for our Local Client Success team to help manage and grow Axios Local Marketplace — a new offering designed to make it easier for local businesses to reach Axios’s trusted, highly engaged audiences. Marketplace is currently lives in Charlotte, NC, with plans to expand into additional Axios Local markets. Why it matters: Axios Local Marketplace creates a new way for local businesses with smaller advertising budgets to connect with Axios audiences and promote their businesses, events, job openings, and brand messages across our digital channels. This role will play a critical part in scaling our new semi-service advertising model — managing the client experience from campaign setup through execution and reporting, while helping shape the processes, products, and workflows that will support Marketplace as it expands into new markets. The ideal candidate will be excited to build something new, identify opportunities for improvement, and create a fast, seamless, and effective experience for local advertisers. Go deeper: In this role, you will: - Monitor incoming submissions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Axios standards. - Review, edit, and post listings on the Marketplace boards and within the Charlotte newsletter. - Maintain high standards for client experience by ensuring timely communication when providing updates and post-campaign performance reporting. - Promote the semi-service model to drive awareness, adoption and engagement.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (Product, Sales, Editorial) to improve processes and enhance the client and reader experience. - Maintain internal tracking documents for all listings, promotions, and communications. - Track and analyze performance trends, providing data-driven recommendations for optimizations and product improvements. Worthy of your time: Ideal candidates should have an entrepreneurial spirit, be highly collaborative, exhibit a passion for the Axios Local mission, and have the following attributes: - Experience working on community management or social programs - Business development or account management experience - Digital marketing, social execution, and copywriting experience - Love of building something new and putting process into place - Customer-centric mindset - Data-driven decision-maker - Highly organized and detail-oriented - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Minimum of 1-2 years of client success, account management, or marketing experience (media or digital advertising preferred) Starting salary for this role is in the range of $70,000 - $80,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
