Mechanical Design Engineer

Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.

Develop and modify mechanical designs to improve product performance, quality, manufacturability, and cost.

Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams to support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Generate and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, and engineering documentation.

Assist in prototype development, testing, and validation activities.

Support manufacturing teams with design changes, troubleshooting, and process improvements.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product and design-related issues.

Ensure designs comply with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.

Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for product enhancements.

Communicate project status and technical information to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
• Experience creating engineering drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
• Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of North Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
