Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative

Primary Objective:

The Sales & Customer Service Representative plays a critical role in growing Interwest Safety Supply's presence throughout Nevada by building and expanding relationships with governmental jurisdictions, traffic control companies, and highway contractors. Working closely with the Branch and Inside Sales teams, the Representative's primary goal is to drive new and repeat sales across Interwest's full product line while delivering responsive, high-quality customer service on every account.

A secondary goal is to build trust and long-term relationships with customers by learning their needs in depth and positioning Interwest as their preferred provider for highway safety products in the market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Foster relationships with existing accounts as well as expand the company's database of prospects
• Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within the client base
• Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts
• Make outbound follow-up calls to existing clients via telephone and email for cross-selling, up-selling, and quote follow-up
• Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales
• Overcome objections of prospective customers
• Emphasize product and service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports

Business Growth & Customer Support

• Learn and maintain proficiency across Interwest's extensive product offering, including highway signs, signposts, traffic control products, crash cushions, and traffic counting devices
• Support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events as needed
• Document sales activities and progress in CRM systems to maintain accurate, up-to-date account records
• Build long-term relationships with governmental jurisdictions, traffic control companies, and contractors throughout Nevada
• Provide customer feedback to sales and product teams to guide product and service improvement

Requirements

Qualifications Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field a plus
• 1-3 years of sales or customer service experience preferred

Physical Demands:

While primarily an office- and phone-based role, the Sales & Customer Service Representative position may require:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer and telephone
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, dialing, and operating office equipment
• Ability to communicate clearly over the phone and in writing for extended periods
• Visual acuity to read pricing sheets, product specifications, and computer screens
• Occasional travel to support trade shows, exhibits, or other company events

Work Environment

• Primarily an office setting with frequent phone and computer use
• May work under deadline pressure during month-end or quota periods
