Shipping SupervisorAlbany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. With our unique blend of products - including 3D woven structures, traditional and nontraditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few - AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily work activities of the Shipping Team. Ensure that inventory is stored safely, accurately and securely. Support production goals through timely and accurate delivery to production supply areas. Maintain best practices for accurate inventory results. Promote the development of team members through cross-training, education and mentoring. Model the company vision and values in all interactions with team members. Responsible for health and safety of themselves and coworkers.Provide supervision, work direction and training coordination to shipping & receiving staffResponsible for overseeing warehousing, shipping, receiving, and handling of materials for AEC SLC OperationsManage shipping methods to reduce freight costsPrepare the necessary documents to ship finished goods, coordinating with QA and accounting personnelCoordinate freight shipments and prepare shipping documentation, including export paperworkPerform all relevant SAP transactionsResponsible for the integrity and accuracy of incoming/outgoing shipments Responsible for inventory control accuracy for all warehouse/materials controlled areas Responsible for monthly finished goods and raw material inventory countsMonitor and control production reports to ensure accurate data is entered into inventoryLoading and unloading freight vehicles Ensure availability of shipping supplies Package goods for shipment as requiredDrive continuous improvements in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost Observe, support & contribute to Company safety programs, policies & initiatives Execute employee performance management consistent with Company policy Interact and coordinate with plant logistics systems and activities, including Production, Inventory Control, Procurement, Quality and Customer ServiceSupervisory responsibility:Supervisors are responsible for overseeing their work group Including but not limited to: formal evaluations/performance management as set out by the organization, recruitment and developing group cohesion.MRP/ERP systems - SAP experience preferred MS Office SkillsMust be highly organized, with good attention to detail, self-motivated and able to work independently.Strong communication skills Problem Solving SkillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, growing business Lean manufacturing experience1-5 years of relevant experience in shipping/receiving/warehouseEducation: 2-year degree preferred or High School Graduate with relevant work experience.Working ConditionsIndoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations required.
