Requirements High school diploma or GED required Graduation from a Medical Assistant program, or eligibility for certification by AMT, AAMA, NHA, or NAHP within 12 months of hire RMA, CMA, CCMA, or NRCMA required within 12 months of hire Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire Six months of medical assistant experience required, or completion of a medical assistant externship Specialty clinic experience preferred Working knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT coding and insurance procedures Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends depending on patient care needs Ability to float to other clinic practices as needed Ability to maintain good communications and positive working relationships Maintains required credentials Core Competencies Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and laboratory procedures while adhering to compliance standards such as HIPAA and CLIA.
