Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer

Job Description Senior Civil Engineer – Hydropower & Hydraulic Structures Lead projects involving dams, spillways, intakes, outlets, and other hydropower and hydraulic structure improvements across the Northwest, West Coast and Southwest regions. Manage and mentor junior staff, develop an execution team capable of delivering a diverse variety of multi‑discipline design projects, and coordinate with subject‑matter experts to deliver PS&E’s, technical analyses, and construction support. Key Responsibilities Communicate with client counterparts to understand key interests and develop technical solutions from concept to closeout. Translate client direction into efficient work plans and coordinate with project team members to deliver high‑quality work products. Create written technical documents, technical drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and alternatives analyses. Apply design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes relevant to the hydropower industry. Leverage knowledge of hydraulics, civil/structural design, geotechnical considerations, and mechanical systems to generate unique engineered solutions. Prepare and oversee calculations and design documents. Participate in equipment procurement and construction management processes. Manage and mentor junior engineers. Support business development teams for pursuit activities, including leading projects you pursue and acquire. Preferred Qualifications Experience with West Coast hydropower clients. Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Business. Familiarity with state and federal regulatory requirements for dams and hydropower clients. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent engineering experience. Minimum 11 years of related work experience. Completion of pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search). Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects where applicable.
