Smile Design Lutz is seeking an experienced, patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our team as a key leader within our growing practice. We are looking for a strong clinician with 4+ years of hygiene experience who is excited about partnering with our new doctor, helping lead our hygiene program, and creating an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene care.
• Perform patient screenings, periodontal assessments, and oral health evaluations.
• Provide patient education regarding oral hygiene, treatment recommendations, and preventive care.
• Perform prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, periodontal maintenance, and other hygiene services as allowed by state regulations.
• Partner with the doctor to identify treatment needs and support comprehensive patient care.
• Build trusting relationships with patients and help improve treatment acceptance through education.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and clinical documentation.
• Adhere to infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and clinical best practices.
• Serve as a leader within the hygiene department by promoting clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
• Support a positive office culture and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Requirements

• Current Florida Dental Hygienist license in good standing.
• Minimum of 4 years of clinical dental hygiene experience required.
• Ability to perform comprehensive periodontal assessments and non-surgical periodontal therapy.
• Strong understanding of patient education, preventive care, and periodontal health.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Active Florida Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with patients and team members.
• Leadership mindset with the ability to help guide and influence a growing hygiene team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive, energetic, and hardworking approach to patient care.
• Experience with Dentrix, Dexis, Videa AI, and iTero is preferred but not required.
• Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
• Desire to contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented office culture.

Qualifications:

• Current dental hygienist license
• Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
• CPR Certification

Preferred Experience

• Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
• Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients' dental health
• Clinical needs as required by office
