Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

WCS Healthcare is currently partnering with a psychiatric hospital in Middletown, NY, seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join its Adult Mental Health team.

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated LPNs with at least one (1) year of experience working with the adult mental health population . This is an excellent opportunity to provide meaningful patient care in an inpatient behavioral health setting while working alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team.

Position Details

• Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Location: Middletown, NY
• Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital
• Patient Population: Adult Mental Health
• Schedule: Five (5) shifts per week
• Shifts Available:
  • Days
  • Evenings
  • Nights
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients under the supervision of Registered Nurses and physicians.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
• Monitor patient behaviors, physical status, and response to treatment.
• Document patient care, assessments, and nursing interventions accurately and timely.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Support crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts when necessary.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes patient dignity, recovery, and well-being.

Requirements

• Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with the Adult Mental Health population .
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Strong communication, observation, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced behavioral health environment.
