Climate Program Implementation Fellow – Bay Area Air District Launch your Sustainability Career with the Climate Corps Fellowship program! SEI’s Climate Corps Fellowship program offers the chance to lead impactful climate and community resilience projects while gaining paid, hands‑on experience. About the Opportunity Start Date: September 1st, 2026 Length of Fellowship: 10 months Location Type: Hybrid (on‑site 2 days per week) In this role, you will work closely with senior staff to implement the Bay Area Regional Climate Action Plan (BARCAP) in partnership with regional agencies, local governments, and other partners. Responsibilities include planning and executing workshops, developing data visualizations and narrative materials, and contributing to written deliverables. You will also support key actions in the plan such as urban greening and addressing emissions from backup power in data centers. About Our Partner The Bay Area Air District (Air District) is a regional air pollution control agency that works to improve air quality, protect public health, and mitigate climate change across nine Bay Area counties. What You’ll Do Contribute to a report to the USEPA on implementation progress, including research, data compilation, and drafting key sections. Assist in planning and executing an inaugural Annual Implementers Workshop. Develop compelling data visualizations and narrative materials to communicate climate action progress across the region. Provide targeted support for sector‑specific projects focused on Urban Greening and Data Centers Urban greening: Identify and implement practical actions to support equitable implementation of urban greening projects. Large commercial facilities/data centers: Identify and evaluate non‑regulatory approaches to address emissions from backup power at data centers. What We Provide Fixed monthly stipend of $3,928. $1,000 end‑of‑program financial award. Health care coverage with 100% of premiums covered by SEI. 10 Personal Days (plus all observed holidays). What We’re Looking For Background or coursework in environmental policy, urban planning, climate science, public health, or a related field. Strong research and data analysis skills, with ability to synthesize information from multiple sources. Proficiency with data visualization tools. Excellent written and verbal communication. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, adaptable to a variety of professional settings. Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with a positive, solutions‑focused attitude. Ability to work onsite on a hybrid basis (2 days per week). Candidates must currently reside within commuting distance of the partner site. Commitment to a fair workplace that honors diverse experiences and perspectives. Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (no visa sponsorship). Physical ability to move 25–50 pounds as needed. Must be 18 years or older. Nice‑to‑Haves Experience with stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in Tableau, ArcGIS, Excel, Python/R, or equivalent. Experience with public speaking, presenting, and meeting facilitation.
