About the Role
The Company is seeking a General Counsel to serve as its top legal officer and lead all legal, compliance, and legislative affairs activities. The successful candidate will be a senior executive with a strategic mindset, a genuine commitment to public service, and a strong background in regulatory compliance, particularly in the areas of FAR/DFARS, EEO statutes, export controls, and federal ethics rules. The General Counsel will be responsible for ensuring the company's adherence to all relevant laws and regulations, providing legal guidance on a wide range of matters, and managing legal, regulatory, and reputational risks. This role also involves serving as the Chief Compliance Officer, overseeing the corporate compliance program, and maintaining robust systems for documenting compliance across all entities. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, with at least 10 years of relevant legal experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a regulatory compliance-related area of practice. Experience in an FFRDC, UARC, government contracts, or research environment is required. The role demands a candidate with a keen understanding of national security laws and regulations, as well as experience or knowledge of congressional operations and government relations. The ideal candidate will be a practical and innovative problem-solver, with outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships in a collaborative environment. A TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph is required, or the ability to obtain one.
