About the Opportunity

Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a custom metal fabrication and manufacturing company in Detroit Lakes, MN to hire a TIG Welder. In this role, you'll work with stainless steel components and complex fabricated assemblies while producing high-quality products that meet engineering and quality standards. If you enjoy hands-on fabrication work, blueprint reading, and working independently in a professional manufacturing environment, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What You'll Do as a TIG Welder:

• Perform TIG welding on stainless steel components in multiple welding positions
• Layout, fit, and assemble materials according to blueprints and engineering drawings
• Set up and adjust welding equipment for various material thicknesses and alloys
• Inspect and maintain weld quality, consistency, and compliance with specifications
• Move and position materials using forklifts and hoists as needed
• Operate hand and power tools used in metal fabrication processes
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following PPE and safety requirements

What You Need to Bring to the TIG Welder Role:

• Minimum of 2 years of TIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications
• Knowledge of welding positions, base materials, joint design, and welding procedures
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong math, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Experience operating forklifts, hoists, and material handling equipment preferred
• Technical school welding certificate preferred
• Previous leadership or team lead experience is a plus
• Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Detroit Lakes, MN #WorkAtFriesen's
