Fire Protection Sales RepresentativeShambaugh & Son is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Fire Protection Sales Representative to support the growth of our Fire Protection division throughout Central Illinois. This role is ideal for a sales professional who enjoys building customer relationships, identifying project opportunities, and serving as a trusted advisor to contractors, facility owners, property managers, and industrial customers. Based on the original position, this role combines sales, business development, estimating, and customer relationship management responsibilities.As a Fire Protection Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer accounts, conducting site visits, reviewing project requirements, preparing estimates and proposals, and helping customers find the best fire protection solutions for their facilities. You will work closely with operations and project teams to deliver exceptional service and ensure successful project execution from concept to completion.The ideal candidate is self-motivated, customer-focused, and experienced in construction sales, fire protection, mechanical contracting, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or a related industry. If you enjoy creating long-term partnerships, solving customer challenges, and driving business growth, we want to hear from you.Territory: Central Illinois (Champaign, Danville, Bloomington, Peoria, Decatur, Springfield, and surrounding areas)Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMeet with clients and contractors both in office and job sites.Build and manage sales for the division.Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to gain customer understanding of company offerings.Close sufficient sales to exceed sales plan objectives.Familiar with reading blueprints, understanding current NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 72 standards and local codes.Develop a positive ongoing relationship with existing and new customers, general contractors and end users.Estimate small and large projectsAbility to build new business associations / relationships and grow the Fire Alarm Business.Other duties as requiredQualifications3 years of fire alarm sales preferredNICET in fire alarm systems preferredExperience with FIKE, Edwards and Notifier or a combination of any of these preferredTechnical knowledge of VESDA and clean agent systems a plusPrior experience with NFPA to complete system layouts to ensure system meets code preferredAbility to effectively communicate with customers and establish long-term relationshipsAbility to work independently as well as a part of a teamAbility to manage several projects simultaneously with different cost componentsStrong organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, ability to be resourceful and proactive when completing dutiesRegular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.Equal Opportunity EmployerAs a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
