Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Urbana, Illinois.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Float\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float Pool RN for a Level 1 Trauma hospital requiring Epic charting experience and the ability to float across various inpatient units.Details\n \n Float pool role covering various Med/Surg units, including Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICU as applicable\n Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours)\n Every other weekend and every other holiday required\n No on-call responsibilities\n Level 1 Trauma facility setting\n Epic EMR experience required\n Requirements\n \n Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)\n BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)\n Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience\n ASN required, BSN preferred\n Level 1 Trauma experience required\n Epic charting experience required\n Additional Information\n \n Provides direct patient care, including assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation across multiple inpatient units\n Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient care\n May precept staff from various units as needed\n Completes Unit Nurse Leader Training as needed\n Reports and corrects safety hazards and incidents as part of patient and employee safety responsibilities\n Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible\n RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract\n Contingent workers may not be on assignment for more than 1 year continuously at this health system without a 6-month break in service\n First-time travelers may be considered\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-738289.
