Step into a rewarding role dedicated to supporting young learners with unique needs in a resource specialist program (RSP) setting. This contract opportunity focuses exclusively on PreK students, offering the chance to shape early educational experiences and make a lasting impact.
As a Special Education Teacher, you'll be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments for a small caseload of approximately 5-6 PreK students. Your expertise will help identify individual strengths and areas of growth, ensuring each child receives the services and accommodations they deserve.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Credential
- Experience working in early childhood education, especially in a PreK environment
- Ability to complete detailed assessments, create reports, and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong understanding of special education law, best practices, and assessment tools
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Adaptability and commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
Responsibilities:
- Administer and interpret PreK-level assessments to determine students’ needs
- Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports for IEP meetings
- Collaborate with preschool staff, families, and related service providers to support student growth
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Support students with diverse learning styles, ensuring compliance with all special education guidelines
- Provide insights into best educational strategies for PreK learners
