R10093792 Solution Development Manager – Lurgi Technologies (Open) – Houston, TX (HO) – Engineering – E&C AirLiquide is a leading technology partner for the design, engineering and construction of processing facilities worldwide. This role focuses on developing competitive, sustainable gas solutions using Lurgi technologies for large‑industry customers. Responsibilities Understand customer needs and develop the most competitive, comprehensive and optimized gas solution using the Lurgi portfolio (SMR, ATR, POX, etc.). Lead and support proposal preparation, providing technical deliverables such as technical specifications, scope of work definition, and other project development documentation. Meet or exceed company safety standards and comply with E&C global and local engineering standards. Serve as the regional focal point for AirLiquide Over‑The‑Fence (Large Industries) projects involving Lurgi technologies. Support the E&C Third Party Sales team and related AirLiquide businesses in technical exchanges with customers, including presentations and conference participation. Initiate site visits, stakeholder brainstorming, and scenario development meetings to review and refine solutions. Develop key technical deliverables (solution tables, scope of work, technical specifications) and estimation documentation for comparative analysis. Collaborate with product line, technical and proposal teams to finalize design basis and technical proposals. Define optimized process integration with the client and drive the basis of design. Work with the Intellectual Property team to ensure freedom to propose solutions. Participate in all necessary review meetings, including risk boards and performance review conferences. Conduct benchmarking and estimate reviews to assure commercial competitiveness. Ensure the customer’s input is reflected in the proposed solution and manage trade‑off discussions. Interact with key suppliers and procurement teams to obtain scope and pricing information. Lead or participate in technical clarification meetings and follow‑ups with customers. Track market information, win/loss data, and contribute to continuous improvement. Participate in contract negotiations with customers when required. Assess FOIK (First of Its Kind) status with the Solution Development Director and other leaders, and prepare FOIK notes if needed. Manage one direct report when applicable. Qualifications Bachelor or Master in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or an equivalent engineering field. Experience in process design for HyCO plants or similar projects. General knowledge of project development, execution, industrial gas plants and market. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication and coordination abilities. Ability to interact effectively with other entities, disciplines, and departments. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10% of time). Preferred: Experience with Aspen Plus simulation software. Strong organizational and people‑management skills. Excellent customer interaction skills. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Notions of German or French language considered an asset. Experience working with multicultural teams.
