Sterile Compounding Pharmacist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the compounding of sterile injectables in multiple dosage forms, includingbut not limited to vials, syringes, infusion bags, and other sterile delivery systems. Oversee and manage the implementation and operation of automation andtechnology used in the compounding process according to USP standards. Provide direct supervision and control of sterile compounding personnel engaged inpreparation, aseptic manipulation, packaging, labeling, and related compoundingsupport functions. Oversee nonsterile-to-sterile compounding processes for injectable preparations,including review of formulation rationale, component suitability, sterilizationapproach, filtration methods, endotoxin risk, and required sterility testing. Ability to communicate effectively with pharmacists, technicians, prescribers,leadership, and regulators. Ability to lead with a patient-safety-first mindset and strong professional judgment.Physical and Environmental Requirements Ability to work in cleanroom and controlled compounding environments forextended periods. Ability to wear required garb and PPE and perform duties requiring fine motor skillsand attention to detail. Ability to follow personal hygiene and other requirements established by USP forworking in a controlled, cleanroom environment. Prescription order entry and verificationQualifications PharmD or equivalent professional pharmacy degree from an accredited school ofpharmacy. Active California pharmacist license in good standing.Physical and Environmental Requirements Ability to work in cleanroom and controlled compounding environments forextended periods. Ability to wear required garb and PPE and perform duties requiring fine motor skillsand attention to detail. Ability to follow personal hygiene and other requirements established by USP forworking in a controlled, cleanroom environment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift supplies and materials consistent with pharmacyoperations.
