What You Will Be Doing Plan and facilitate virtual small-group and individual reading intervention sessions for learners in grades 3–8 Leverage reading assessment data to pinpoint fluency and comprehension deficits and modify instruction rapidly Adapt learning activities across varied reading levels, including accommodations for dyslexia and associated reading challenges Monitor student advancement in a clear, systematic manner and apply that data to inform upcoming sessions Facilitate structured motivation touchpoints that foster confidence, perseverance, and pride in learning gains What You Won’t Be Doing Deliver large, full-class instruction or present content from a rigid curriculum Adhere to a pre-written program without responding to individual student needs and live feedback Serve as a passive "technology supervisor" without substantive teaching and relationship-building Depend on superficial incentives that fail to cultivate enduring motivation Literacy Interventionist Key Responsibilities Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through personalized virtual interventions and motivational coaching that strengthens student confidence. Basic Requirements Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a closely related field Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or equivalent state certification) Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy approaches) At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group or one-on-one reading interventions for students in grades 3–8 Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties Ability to interpret progress monitoring data and use it to plan and adjust instruction Strong ability to engage and manage students in a virtual setting through clear, motivating communication Available to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona as needed.
