The Pharmacy Technician Lead supports the pharmacy team by supporting and leading on operational goals and requirements. The Lead Pharmacy Technician holds a leadership position in which they must provide guidance and instructions to other Pharmacy Technicians. These professionals are also in charge of scheduling the Pharmacy Technicians and managing the day-to-day activities of pharmacy staff such as ensuring daily and monthly tasks are complete at Mountain Park Health Center (MPHC) pharmacies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manages technician’s day-to-day operations, delegates responsibility, and assures adequate resources are available to meet customer needs.
• Promptly and accurately process prescriptions and enter patient information into the computer software systems, including the EMR.
• Participates in the training and/or orientation of new pharmacy employees.
• Works to meet department goals and objectives.
• Assures compliance with safety, security, state and federal regulation, MPHC policies, and procedures.
• Maintains drug inventory and monitors purchasing reports to maintain medication budget.
• Oversees department orders to completion. Reports drug shortages and outages to a member of the pharmacy management team pertaining to the formulary.
• Answer patient questions and troubleshoot/resolve, as needed.
• Assists the pharmacist in dispensing, filling prescriptions, inventory control, stocking shelves, and data entry.
• Accurately fills and documents medication into the automated dispensing machine.
• Assist in streamlining communication with the patient, insurance companies, pharmacist, nurses, lab, and other healthcare related parties.
• Stay current on the newest medicines and their availability.
• Support compliance with the 340B drug pricing policy and abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the State Board of Pharmacy and MPHC policies and procedures. ·
• Consistent, reliable in-person attendance is required.
• Travel to multiple locations during shift.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma
• At least 2 years of pharmacy experience in a lead role
• License as a pharmacy technician in the state of Arizona
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Must be immunizer certified or have the ability to be certified within 90 days of employment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of pharmacy experience in operations/lead role
• Knowledge of the 340B program ·
