Driver (DOT - CDL)Job Title: Driver (DOT-Class A CDL)Location: Atlanta, GA 30336Type: Full-timeOverview: Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to join our transportation team! Working as a Full-time Driver (DOT-Class A CDL), you will be representing our fleet as you deliver from Fastenal Distribution Centers to branches and customer on-site locations. You will operate a safe, well-maintained and late model tractor trailer or straight truck. Delivery trucks are pre-loaded, in order of delivery, by warehouse employees prior to departure and you will be responsible for unloading the freight at each stop along your route; most routes average 10-12 stops. We offer established routes that may see periodic change based off needs of the company. We strive to integrate EHS & Sustainability considerations into all our business decisions, plans, and operations.Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Utilizing a handheld scannerUnloading product from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or by forkliftProviding excellent service to our branches and customers by delivering product in a prompt, efficient mannerInteracting with our shipping and receiving departmentsMaintaining a clean work environment within our equipmentMaintaining the cleanliness and organization of work areaInspecting and reporting defects or issues in equipmentComplying with DOT and Fastenal safety regulationsComplying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectationsParticipating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectivesLearning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainingsRequired Position Qualifications: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:Excellent written and oral communication skillsPossess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver's LicensePossess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain onePossess a current Haz Mat endorsement OR have the ability to obtain one (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)Meet Fastenal driving record requirementsDemonstrate strong working knowledge of the DOT regulations in regards to a CDL DriverMaintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-ServiceWillingness to drive interstate routes across state linesDemonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamworkLift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150lbs.Successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification and background checkPreferred Position Qualifications:Prior driving work experiencePrior experience operating a forkliftAbout Us: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
