Rackley Roofing is looking for an experienced Commercial Roofing General Manager to lead and grow our East Tennessee operation in Knoxville.

This is not simply an operations management position. We are looking for a proven commercial roofing leader who wants the opportunity to own the performance of a market, develop people, strengthen customer relationships, and drive profitable growth .

As General Manager, you will have a direct impact on the success of the Knoxville operation. You will lead the business across operations, production, financial performance, customer relationships, business development, and team development while helping Rackley Roofing for continued growth throughout East Tennessee.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the General Manager, you will have responsibility for the overall performance and growth of the Knoxville market.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and execute a strategic business plan designed to increase revenue, profitability, market presence, and long-term growth.
• Provide leadership and direction across commercial roofing operations, production, service, sales, and supporting functions.
• Ensure projects and operations are completed efficiently while maintaining expectations for quality, safety, customer service, and profitability.
• Establish clear performance expectations for leaders and team members and hold the organization accountable for results.
• Review operational reports, financial statements, production results, and key performance indicators to evaluate business performance.
• Identify performance gaps and implement corrective strategies when objectives are not being achieved.
• Manage resources effectively, including labor, equipment, materials, and operational expenses.
• Develop strategies for generating new business and strengthening existing customer relationships.
• Build relationships with clients, participate in contract negotiations, and support business development efforts.
• Partner with company leadership to review operational performance, financial results, staffing needs, opportunities, and challenges.
• Evaluate and develop leaders within the operation while building a strong leadership pipeline.
• Establish and maintain operational procedures, standards, and expectations.
• Help create solutions to operational and customer challenges while maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
• Represent Rackley Roofing professionally with customers, employees, vendors, and members of the community.
• Foster a culture of accountability, communication, teamwork, urgency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

What You Bring

We are looking for an experienced commercial roofing professional who understands both the operational and business sides of the industry.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial roofing industry experience in a management or leadership capacity .
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, materials, installation methods, repair techniques, and industry requirements.
• Experience managing roofing operations, production, customers, employees, budgets, and business performance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and hold employees and leaders accountable.
• Strong understanding of customer relationship management and business development.
• Ability to analyze problems, evaluate options, and make sound business decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a sense of urgency.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• High level of integrity, initiative, adaptability, and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
• Experience managing the financial performance or P&L of a commercial roofing operation or business unit.
• Experience growing a commercial roofing market, branch, or territory.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint .
