Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring prior trauma OR experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Operating Room unit within a Short Term Acute Care Level I Trauma Center,
• 3x12 shift rotation across days, evenings, and nights based on unit needs,
• Schedules issued in 6-week blocks, generally 2 weeks in advance,
• Typically one week of night shift per 4-week schedule block,
• Weekend work required,
• On-call required, up to 2 shifts per week,
• Must be independent with trauma cases, craniotomy, vascular, and endo-vascular procedures,
• Must circulate; scrub experience highly preferred,
• Experience with robotics and orthopedics strongly preferred,
• Epic charting system used,
• Royal blue scrub color required,

Job Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required,
• BLS certification required; ACLS also required per unit,
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I trauma or travel experience),
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Level I Trauma Center experience required,
• Teaching/academic hospital experience required,
• Epic charting experience required,
• Neurology and craniotomy skills required,
• Experience in General OR, Hybrid OR, and trauma settings including gunshot/stab wound cases,
• One professional reference required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity, academic Level I Trauma Center setting,
• Participate in general, hybrid, and trauma OR cases including gunshot and stab wound patients,
• Facility cannot approve holiday RTO,
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval,
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted,
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical or religious exemptions only,
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility,
• Former staff must have separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler,
• First-time travelers are accepted,
• Pending license candidates are accepted
