Position Overview

We are seeking a senior Google Cloud Platform Engineering SME to serve as the technical authority for a cloud advisory engagement. This individual will evaluate the architecture, configuration, security, governance, and operational practices of an enterprise GCP environment and translate technical findings into a practical improvement roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess the current GCP architecture, platform configuration, engineering practices, and operating model.

• Evaluate GCP organizations, folders, projects, landing zones, networks, shared services, and policy guardrails.

• Review identity and access management, privileged access, service accounts, workload identities, and key management.

• Assess network segmentation, firewall rules, private connectivity, logging, monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities.

• Evaluate infrastructure as code, automation, CI/CD, provisioning, configuration management, and change controls.

• Review resilience, backup, disaster recovery, scalability, performance, and operational support practices.

• Identify architectural, security, compliance, and operational gaps and develop prioritized recommendations.

• Partner with cloud engineering, cybersecurity, risk, audit, and business stakeholders and present findings to technical teams and leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, engineering, operating, or assessing enterprise GCP environments.

• Deep knowledge of GCP organization design, networking, IAM, security, governance, and landing-zone patterns.

• Hands-on experience with services such as Cloud IAM, VPC, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Security Command Center, Cloud KMS, Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.

• Experience with Terraform or a comparable infrastructure-as-code platform and modern CI/CD practices.

• Ability to assess complex environments, develop pragmatic recommendations, and communicate technical risk clearly to senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Cloud Security Engineer, or Cloud Network Engineer certification.

• Experience supporting cloud risk, compliance, internal audit, or regulated-industry engagements.

• Familiarity with the Google Cloud Architecture Framework, CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
