Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Unit. This is a night shift position with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Shift Information

Shift: Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Details

Unit Type: Medical Surgical
Number of Beds: 52
Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4 on both days and nights

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

Providing comprehensive care to patients with various diagnoses, including pneumonia, CHF, COPD, renal disease, sepsis, and stroke.
Collaborating with a team that includes charge nurses and patient care technicians.
Monitoring patients and administering medications as per established protocols.
Engaging in the orientation process which includes 2 shifts on the unit.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
BLS Certification is mandatory.
First-time travelers are encouraged to apply; experience in a MedSurg unit is a plus.

Additional Information

The unit has a supportive environment with a welcoming team atmosphere. Opportunities may exist to transition to a permanent role based on performance and fit.

Floating Requirements

Registered Nurses may be required to float to the surgical floor and PCU as needed, within their skill set.

Scheduling & Weekend Requirements

Weekend shifts required based on unit demand.
Holiday shifts may be required depending on staffing needs.

Dress Code

Any color scrubs are acceptable; scrubs are not provided.

Technology and Equipment

Familiarity with CPAP and occasional BiPap is expected.
Telemetry monitoring is managed by dedicated tele techs, but RNs must verify rhythms on Philips systems.
