Head Chef

Opportunity to work in a respectful,  busy, and gratifying environment. Dock Street Brewery is an  

award-winning brewery and restaurant with a location in South Philly's Point Breeze  

Neighborhood with a second location in Fishtown. We are looking for an  

experienced chef to lead our kitchen and wood-fired pizza oven at Dock Street South. The ideal candidate is a   creative professional that has a strong sense of operations and 
can look at the business in big   picture terms.   

  Main duties include:
∙Experience making and working with pizza and dough is required 

∙ Manage labor and food costs  

∙ Work in high volume, fast paced environment  

∙Experience with the execution of catered events 
∙Maintain control of the kitchen to ensure that all tasks are carried out efficiently and 

effectively  

∙ Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen  

∙ Plan menus and cost menus items based on the availability and price of ingredients  

∙ Collaborate with the general manager and owner to align kitchen operations with the  

overarching goals of the establishment  

∙ Responsible for back of house monthly inventory  

∙ Maintain vendor relationships  

∙ Recruit, hire, and train chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff  

∙ Maintain kitchen equipment; schedule repairs and additional maintenance as needed  

∙ Current  Servsafe certification is required

About Dock Street:  

Founded in 1985 Dock Street is the OG brewery in Philadelphia. We have continued to innovate  

and play a role in the craft beer landscape in an ever changing market through our flagship  

beers, experimental brews, and passion for delivering excellence.   

Our name, Dock Street, was chosen in honor of the seaport district which was, in the late  

1700's, the largest producer of beer in the then- newly formed country. Today, we still brew with  

the spirit of Philadelphia's sudsy history, and Dock St. in mind.
