Welder Apprentice

Experienced WelderThe Experienced Welder will be responsible for production welding, service & repair welding, prototype building and fitter welding in a high paced production environment. This role will work with supervisors to ensure continuous improvements in work cells, hitting quotas, welding according to pre-set parameters using MIG, ARC and TIG welding processes.ResponsibilitiesConduct repairs, modifications and retrofitsConduct technical inspectionsFabrication of custom prototypes from supplied drawings, fabrication of custom jigs and fixturesPerform maintenance on returned products to be refurbished or re-worked to customer specificationsKeep detailed and accurate reports and documentationOperate manual or semi automatic flame cutting equipmentOperate brazing and soldering equipmentOperate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be weldedRepair machinery and other componentsTest and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flawsMaintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safetyConduct project review and planningFuel tank and card lock repairsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredCollege or post secondary education is preferredAWS D1.1 SMAW Certification requiredPrevious experience in Heavy Truck, Automotive or related industry experience preferredOther Skills and Abilities RequiredEnsure compliance of all OHSA regulations, as well as Rush's Heath and SafetyAssist in development or repair estimatesMaintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniquesStrong interpersonal skills and customer focusedExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently in a busy environmentExperience with routine maintenance operationsAble to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingStrong attention to detailBenefits:We offer exceptional compensation and benefits, 401K and stock purchase, incentives for performance, training, and opportunity for advancement - all in a culture that appreciates and rewards excellence, a positive attitude and integrity.Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/DisabledThis job posting does not state or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.
