All students follow a rigorous and culturally diverse curriculum in eight areas: English and language arts, foreign language (Spanish), mathematics, science, social studies, humanities, art, and technology. Advanced Placement skills are embedded in prerequisite courses to ensure readiness for Friendship’s college‑preparatory high schools.One of the few D.C. campuses with an in‑house library, Woodridge incorporates classic and contemporary books, art, and music as part of the daily school experience. Please also see the available salary scales: FPCS Compensation Responsibilities Special Education Inclusion Teacher: A special education teacher who primarily supports students in their general education class. Create a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership of their learning that fosters students’ intellectual, social, and emotional development. Provide daily instruction, including clear learning outcomes, well‑designed lessons, and high‑quality assessments that align to Friendship’s curriculum and standards. Incorporate into lessons creative, hands‑on learning experiences that broaden students’ exposure and interests, foster student ingenuity, and require application of knowledge and skills acquired through daily instruction. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners by employing varied teaching strategies, scaffolding, flexible grouping, and individualized supports to ensure all students can access the curriculum, achieve mastery, and thrive academically. Establish and maintain a classroom environment that is visually appealing, rich with resources aligned to curriculum and standards, and honors student achievement with current and accurate displays of exemplary student work. Communicate effectively with students to understand their talents, interests, and needs while conveying learning expectations and providing regular feedback on their progress toward meeting those expectations. Communicate regularly with families to identify students’ talents, interests, and needs, and provide updates regarding students’ achievements and progress. Collaborate with school‑based staff and throughout the Friendship network in staff meetings, regular analysis sessions, and professional learning designed to enhance students’ learning experiences and increase student achievement. Write and implement SMART goals for IEPs and 504 plans to ensure students with disabilities receive personalized, measurable, and achievable support aligned with their educational needs.
