Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Critical Care Stepdown)

Contract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours Per Week Guaranteed | 13-Week Assignment | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 31-bed Critical Care Stepdown / PCU unit serving adult and geriatric populations
• Manage patients with common diagnoses including post-vascular surgery, post-CABG, CVA, respiratory failure, heart failure, chest pain, and post-cath lab care
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips and manage chest tubes as part of routine unit care
• Operate Baxter IV pumps and occasional epidural pumps; document all care accurately within Meditech EHR
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–1:5 while delivering safe, high-quality care in a Level II Trauma facility
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team as a kind, respectful, punctual, and flexible team player

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; ADN or BSN required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; 2+ years preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac drips and chest tube management
• Ability to work night shifts (1900–0700) including every other weekend

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Critical Care Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting strongly preferred
• Experience with TR (transradial) bands
• Familiarity with Meditech EHR
