Senior Engineer - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Water/Wastewater to lead the planning, design and delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will involve providing technical expertise across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and concept development through to detailed design, construction support and commissioning. You will work closely with clients, project managers, contractors, regulators and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, sustainable and cost-effective solutions.


Key responsibilities will include managing and reviewing hydraulic, civil and process engineering designs; preparing technical reports, specifications, drawings and design calculations; contributing to project scopes, budgets, programmes and risk assessments; and ensuring that work complies with relevant legislation, industry standards, health and safety requirements and environmental objectives. You will provide technical leadership to engineers and designers, support the development of less experienced team members, and assist with resolving complex project and construction issues. The role may also include client engagement, proposal preparation, site inspections and representing the engineering team at meetings and technical workshops.


Applicants should hold a degree in civil, environmental, chemical or a related engineering discipline and have substantial experience delivering water or wastewater projects. Professional registration or working towards chartered status is desirable. Strong technical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, pipelines, networks, hydraulic modelling or associated infrastructure will be valued. Experience with relevant design software, industry guidance and regulatory requirements is expected, together with the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation. You will need excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, commercial awareness and the confidence to take ownership of deliverables. A collaborative approach, attention to detail and a commitment to quality, safety and sustainable engineering are essential.
